Lay Person's Guide to LES

My first response when my colleage Bill Behn suggested I attened the spring LES meeting in Pasadena was to roll my eyes. Cynicism is idealism frustrated. I freely admit I was cynical about attending this meeting. Where did this attitude come from? I don't know. But, I do know that I was surprised at how much value came from attending the meeting. The purpose of this blog post is to explore and explain the value of LES to a newcomer.

Three of four BasicIP consultants attended the meeting. Bill Behn who is in Los Altos. Bob Sesek who is based with me in Boise, and myself attended. We are all ex-HP amigos. Bill worked in the HP UX group. Sesek and I worked in the LaserJet organization. Here is a picture of Sesek on the way down ...
